Carburetion Systems.
Prior to using PRO 2000-E treated fuel the Mecosta-Osceola
Tr. fleet:
Did 10 vaporizer rebuilds per year.
Had problems with wax build up in vaporizers. Chunks of wax
would carry over to the carburetor and shut the bus down.
Tuned their buses every 25 to 30 thousand miles and changed
the fuel
filter each time.
Since using PRO 2000-E treated fuel the Mecosta-Osceola Tr.
fleet:
Has no problems with wax build up in vaporizers.
Tunes their buses every 40 to 50 thousand miles and replaces
the fuel
filter every other time. The tune up is done because
the distributor cap
is worn out, the plugs are still clean.
Only rebuilds vaporizers when the parts wear out.
Summary:
Mr. Burke says he has reduced his total fuel related maintenance
costs including labor by over 70%. At one point Mr. Burke decided to
treat every other
delivery of propane with PRO 2000-E. Between two and three months later
the problems
began to reoccur. They went back to treating every delivery and the
problems were
eliminated.
