Vehicles:
30 Propane powered buses...
6x370cu. Fords
2x350cu. GMC’s
22x366cu. GMC’s
1 pickup.
All use Impco Carburetion
Systems.
Prior to using PRO 2000-E treated fuel the Wayne-Westland Schools fleet:
Had severe problems with wax build up in vaporizers. Chunks
of wax would carry over to the carburetor
and shut the bus down. One cold winter day
nine buses went down. They required towing or pushing in
most cases.
Had to change fuel filters & tune buses every three
months.
Had to rebuild vaporizers continually.
Since using PRO 2000-E treated fuel the Wayne-Westland Schools fleet:
Has eliminated their wax problem.
Only tunes engines and replaces fuel filters once a year in
the fall before school starts.
Rebuilds vaporizers only when they wear out...ex. air control
not working properly, etc.
Summary:
Mr. Myers says he has reduced his fuel related maintenance by
90%.
